JUNE WORKSHOP WITH CHRISTIAN BERNERT

This workshop will focus on Rongtön’s text: 'The Lamp Illuminating the Five Paths – Pith Instructions for the Perfection of Wisdom'. The main topic are the five paths to enlightenment. Every practitioner will gradually travel along each of these five. The five paths will be discussed mainly from the point of view of the practice. The main emphasis will be con the contemplation of the perfection of wisdom, the the hart essence of Buddhist philosophy. This is a very important and a very profound topic also discussed in the second part of Sakya Pandita’s “Clarifying the Sage’s Intent” we are currently studying a tour centre. This workshop is therefore an opportunity to delve deeper into the teachings of the Complete Path cycle. 
Sakya Rongtön Sheja Künrig (XV. century) was a great scholar, especially renowned for his mastery of Buddhist philosophy and numerous detailed commentaries. He authored a number of short retreat manuals, explaining the purification practices and offering pith instructions for the cultivation of special insight. 
Christian Bernert graduated from the University of Vienna where he studied Religion, Tibetology and Buddhist Studies. He studied for many years at the International Buddhist Academy (IBA) in Kathmandu, Nepal. His vast knowledge of Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan language combined with his western roots are greatly appreciated by Dharma practitioners in the West.
